Volunteer Tennis Coach

So this weekend I was asked to help out the Woman's Tennis team this morning. They played Kansas and boy was it a long day! I sat on courts #1 for Doubles and #2 Singles and helped win both! It felt good to coach again and to make a difference, but I'm not set on doing any 'Real' coaching anytime soon. I am enjoying my non-coaching days and enjoy the little extra sleep in the mornings, the free weekends, and enjoying my daily conversations with my hubby!

This weekend my mother-in-law comes to visit, she's never been out here to our new place, and so since she is the 'Queen Of Finding Cheap Airfare' we get to spend some time with our favorite 'little person' (Jimmy made me put that)! I can't wait to see her! Jimmy has 2 big Tennis matches also this weekend so we will be busy with all of that too! GO DRAKE!

Anyways, I hope everyone has a great week and don't forget to pick your winner for the Superbowl. The Saints are going to come marching back to New Orleans with a Superbowl WIN!! WHO DAT! WHO DAT! WHO DAT SAY THEY GONNA BEAT DEM SAINTS!? WHO DAT! Can you tell I am routing for the SAINTS?!

Taking 'Near death experiences' to the next level

Well this morning, just like every other morning I get up to go teach as a substitute. I knew the weather would be a little iffy but I heard cars passing so I decided it would be ok. The stairs outside were very slippery, but that didn't stop me from getting in the car and driving. Usually the driveway is an indication its too slippery, but I drove up the driveway without any problems. I get about a mile from the house and I hear on the radio that Metro schools are closed today, well that's just great! So I drive back home and like any other day I back down the driveway into the garage. WRONG! With the left foot hovering the emergency break, the right foot on the regular break, and the snow button in effect; I slide down the driveway turning sideways and try my hardest not to hit the garage! Finally I land very close to the garage and end up in the snow (thank goodness!!). I probably had a heart attack while I was screaming and a complete wreck! My neighbor, thank the lord, was backing out his car and came running over! Thus, the car went in the driveway the opposite of the way I planned. Whew! What a morning!
The moral of the story.... if you need ideas of how to take 'Near death experiences' to the next level, call me!

My 1st Post!

Well People, I am now a blogger, but don't expect this to be an everyday thing. I am going to do my very best at updating our life and journey's along the way! I figured, why not?, it's the start of a new year and I want to keep my family and friends in cahoots with what Jimmy and I are up to these days. Things are sure to pick up and get exciting, we have a house to sell, a job to get, and a Tennis team to do well!
Cheers! for the 1st blog post! And to many many more!
